gender myths

Wednesday, February 29, 2012
Let's get this straight first - I do not believe in gender prediction tests.
HOWEVER
I admit I took one test only because it was easy.
The baking soda test results came back as..........

girl

in about 4-5 weeks we will find out if it was right!

second trimester

I am in my 2nd trimester!

So hungry.  All the time.  Every 2 hours.

I am also experiencing my first round of motherly stress and worry.
Poor baby had surgery today for her hernia repair, spaying, and teeth flouride treatment.
She is breathing super heavy and high pitched like a mix between crying and snoring and I can't tell which it is...it makes me anxious I feel like she might be having a hard time breathing

Oyster mushrooms, yummm

House hunting

We are going on saturday!

Destination One : Grosse Pointe, MI
Just a few reasons that draw us to the area we're going to look at first:

The City is known for its stately tree-lined streets and lakeside recreational facilities.
It is consistently ranked among the top K-12 school systems in the nation.
Sailing regattas and races are held on Lake St. Clair during the summer months.

The Dodge and Ford families live(d) here but seeing as there are about 4 demographic sections of Grosse Pointe, I can assure you we are not looking in Grosse Pointe Shores which is a land of mansions and yacht clubs.
No, no.  We will be looking about 5-15 minutes down the road from that area which is close enough to being in the bubble as we can get.

But here is a little taste of the Edsel Ford home just because.

So our place will be...a little more modest.
We will be near some nicer commercial areas even though GP is pretty small in comparison to other places, which is nice.

Cotton breeze

Thursday, February 16, 2012
I love you pup, but you smell like moldy socks.
And now you smell like moldy socks sprayed with cotton breeze from bath and body works.
Meh

Wolves

Hit the snooze a billion times this morning because I had a really fun dream which never happens
I think it involved me being denounced from my position as something important at this isolated old fashioned village where people wore outfits kindof like in "Red Riding Hood" the new version
And then I got to ride this big black wolf who looked a little mean but hey, he let me ride him around so I am pretty sure we were friends
If I had to make a guess I would say it probably had something to do with me watching Twilight that came out On Demand this week...

Whoaaaaaaaaa
Really necessary???

yep.

baby bjorn

Sunday, February 12, 2012
We bought a BABYBJÖRN baby carrier in organic cotton, walnut color.
It should get here in a few days and we don't really have a way to test it out other than just wearing it solo but the reviews seemed positive and the color will ward off unwanted white dog hairs from showing up.  Nothing black for this baby!

Zombie love

Can't wait

140-something

Friday, February 10, 2012
3 month checkup today
Baby's heartbeat heard with a little handheld dopplar
14...5?  Something like that

Next appointment is the "big" ultrasound where they take alot of measurements, tell me how everything is looking position-wise in there, and hopefully gender!  I have to wait 7 weeks because the ultrasound tech is on vacation the one and only day I could come in 6 weeks from now.  We are excited to find out but I'm going to ATTEMPT to keep the results somewhat contained because I'm undecided if I want people to know or not.

March 30, you cannot come soon enough.

Sushi

Done.

Positive

Never got around to uploading this.  Took 5 total but here are 2 of the 5

Not a baby anymore!

gahhh

Wednesday, February 8, 2012
Well, that's how I feel anyway.  And not even a bump yet.
I'm in so much trouble.

exhausted

School is wearing me out lately.  I've had a small cold but it's hit me harder than normal in terms of energy and motivation.  It might be psychological but I feel like I now "deserve" to take it easy and slack off on some things...  Yes?  No?

Thankfully it is my official weekend as of tomorrow at 3 pm and I plan to hightail it back home where I will lie on the couch all.day.long.
For a little visual inspiration here is a Small Kids, Big Color winner on apartment therapy that I love

Boppy

Tuesday, February 7, 2012
Pretty horrific LG phone photo of one of my birthday gifts below, but that's all I have time for.  Can't wait to try it out tonight!  Boppy pillow may leave no room for husband?

10 hours of class/study, 2 hours commute, 1 hour dog washing, 1 hour eating, 3 hours studying, and it is now officially...not my birthday anymore!!
Exhaustion.
So there goes my whole day and I have to wake up relatively early tomorrow so I can take the dog to get accepted into a new daycare place, get the reading done that I never had time to do today, have a meeting with my research professor, go to 3 hours class, come home, and do work that is due Thursday.

....Yeah, def can't do this with a kid added to the mix.  Time to rethink next fall.

Doggie daycare

Friday, February 3, 2012
Definitely took the dog to stay at the kennel overnight...we got to drop her off on Friday any time and pick her up before 7pm Saturday.  It's like 2 free whole days of dog day care plus overnight, and she always comes back happy and more relaxed because of all the fun playtime she got to have.  Sounds like a win-win to me!  Sometimes a girl just needs some time off, and I'm always alone at home with her for days straight trying to get work done while blocking out her begging and whining.  I have already informed Jared that this might be a good compromise for me being home all week with the baby and saving on daycare costs.  $35 for 2 days without both a dog AND a baby is totally worth it.  I might even spring for a few nights in a row depending on the week....

11 weeks: Baby is the size of a fig

Your baby is now about as big as a fig. (Length: just over 1 1/2 inches, head
to bottom.)

How far along: 11 weeks

Baby's size: 1.5 inches, a fig

Sleep: Horrible because of nightmares every day for the past 2 weeks!  I have a feeling they won't subside until things start feeling settled.  Last night's involved a tall office building at night with a few friends and I committing some sort of crime and when running out my gym shoes fell off so I left them behind and the police found them at the scene.  I think there was also a boardwalk and a carnival type place but it was supposed to be Las Vegas.

Maternity Clothes: No, but I did get my gap straight leg maternity jeans in the mail and despite the fact that the butt area is saggy they are so comfortable I'm tempted to wear them right now.

Food cravings: Fruit - strawberries, grapes.  Starbursts, milk products.

Food aversions: None but nothing ever sounds amazing for dinner.

Symptoms I have: Just a little more tired than normal, and some queasiness but never sickness.  Skin got a little hard to manage this week.  Nightmares/intense dreams.

Doctor’s Appointment: February 10!  No ultrasound I don't think.

Movement: None

Belly Button:  Innie

Gender: Unknown.

What I’m looking forward to: Starting to really show, as opposed to just looking chubby.

What I miss: Accidentally got someone else's artisan blue cheese and camembert in our groceries last week and I was so sad I couldn't eat them!  Sushi, coffee.
