weekly word

Thursday, November 21, 2013
"Rawr!!" when he comes to the lion page in his book.  I've been pushing Cow and Moo and have only said Rawr a few times but he liked that one I guess!  Probably much more fun to say

Holding hands

Sunday, November 17, 2013
When we were outside walking after brunch today in the neighborhood, Elliott would hold up one hand for Dada and then his other for me and he wanted to walk hand-in-hand with both of us simultaneously down the street.  Only for a minute though and then he would shake us both off until he wanted to hold hands again, and it had to be both of us.  Very sweet!

Ketchup

Friday, November 15, 2013
He loves to dip his french fries I. A little glob of ketchup.  We have a new favorite local restaurant (new is the key operative word here and that is rare) called Red Crown and they have paper table cloths so I put a tiny squirt on the table and let him at it and I tell you we have the most peaceful meal!  I may have to start bringing a squeezie of other dips and dippers to every meal if it's really that distracting

Okay, add "no" to the list

Wednesday, November 6, 2013
It's definitely a part of his everyday vocabulary now.  Only took a few days and now he loves to say "No" when I ask for a kiss, or try to feed him, or ask if he wants water, and on and on ; )

Hot and No

Monday, November 4, 2013
Elliott knows the word "hot!" and he usually says "Hah" but today he said the whole word with the "t" at the end.  He knows that the oven gets "hot!" and he's very suspicious about warm food, even lukewarm, and he will see me blowing on something to feed him and will usually refuse to eat it, and when he touches it he will say "Hah" and shake his head.

Which leads me into the no portion.  He doesn't say "No" and I'm trying not to encourage that word too much because I am bound to be bombarded with only "No"'s once he learns it, but he knows the meaning of shaking his head to refuse things.  He is much more communicative, especially at mealtimes, and will frequently ask for things through sign language or refusing everything I offer until I offer the correct item.

A day at the Ford's and more

Sunday, November 3, 2013
We went to the Ford house for a Halloween Goblin's Night Out event.  He loved sword fighting with some of the staff dressed up as pirates, he loved the misty water pool, and the hayride with donuts.

And the "more"...

New words and gestures

Saturday, November 2, 2013
He likes to hand people things - bits of paper, letters, toys, etc.  When he hands them to you he will say "thank you" although it still sounds more like "Doo-doo" or "Too-too"

He holds his hands up and shrugs and says "Wa-da?" when we say the word "where" in any sentence.  It started when we would say "Where's Daphne?"
Now when we are talking and he hears us say the word "where" he will hold up his hands and shrug.  He does it all the time while he plays as well, as if he's looking for something.

He said "cockadoodledoo" to the best of his ability on the rooster page in his book this morning

He always say "Uh Oh!" now.  When he falls down or drops things he will say it
