gender!

I'm calling him Baby E but Jared is still nervous to commit so it is still unofficially one of two E names we have in mind...in other words, we are still at square one with names.

Baby E

A shot of his arm and hand, with head below.  I see a humerus, radius, and ulna!

3D with both hands up on his face

Self explanatory - foot

That is the top of his head on the left and his arm with fingers wiggling

3D picture in which he looks very thin

I know, Daphne.  It scares me too!

 Please pay attention to me.
 I really hate this thing
I always get what I want

so done.

I am feeling very overwhelmed and upset by a lot of things lately but insurance tips me over the edge.
I got a bill from your average eye appointment that took place back in October 2011 for $200.
Long story short, it is ridiculous I am just now getting this bill; it is even more ridiculous they billed my medical instead of my vision and therefore every single penny of the appointment and eyewear cost me out of pocket...sound familiar? story of my life.

Apparently if you have something wrong with your eyes the eye center can just go ahead and call it a medical condition, bill your medical, and never tell you.  I don't think so, try again.  The eye center will never see a cent of this bill and they can...well, I have a lot of things I want to tell them to go do but I will spare you.

I should be asking my insurance company if my vision insurance is pretty much worthless.  Because then I can say to them, "If I'm understanding this correctly, you asked me to pay you money for free?"

This was supposed to be a happy day and I knew when I was dialing the eye center that I should wait until I was ready to be upset about this but I did it anyway and now the very beginning of my weekend has begun with puffy eyes and a red face.

Super.

18 weeks

Sunday, March 25, 2012

There was a noticeable (to me) change in my appearance since yesterday.
Last night I did not sleep that great because I can start to feel my stomach getting in the way when I rotate and turn in bed.  There is also less and less room IN the bed so we have been looking at upgrading to a queen-size as we will need a second bed in the house for guests soon anyway.

braxton?

I think I am either having Braxton Hicks or feeling the baby moving.  Or just growing a humungous uterus.  I can't tell which it is.

Feeling : tightening in front, with a gradual peak and then slowly it goes away.

I feel like it's too early though.  Wonder what's going on in there.

Your Body in Week 18 of Pregnancy

Oh, my aching back! If you've uttered those words more than once this week, here's why: Your uterus, now about the size of a cantaloupe, is causing your body's center of gravity to shift.

 A cantaloupe?

I've definitely been experiencing back pains but I have had that every day for the past month and a half.  Otherwise no physical symptoms.  I have however been feeling a little blue lately and I'm not sure why.  I am aware of it though and I have been having some irrational mood swings.  Not enjoying it!!  I need to start working on some calming techniques to relax every night.

so hungry, when is jared going to come home to cook me dinner???

did yardwork all day, and by yardwork i mean i tidied it up from the dog.  you know what i mean.

crayfish

I woke up last night around 2 am making scared sounds and I jumped up because I swear I saw a crayfish scurrying back and forth behind a little cage right by Jared's arm.
I guess he asked me what was going on and I tried to explain to him what I saw but something about a crab and sunglasses is what came out.

Not the best sleep ever, but I can only hope I will settle in eventually.  I think it is all the changes and the forced side-sleeping and the waking up to go to the bathroom.

Or, this is just the prelude of what is going to be a long life of no sleep after August 24.

Heartbeat 17 weeks!

avocado

Sunday, March 11, 2012

So, ignore the white dog hairs stuck all over me.  I'll have to remember to lint roll myself next time.

Some info from babycenter.com about week 16 :
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces.

Apparently Daphne thinks the baby looks very tasty

Zippers have been rendered useless.
In my head it's still stomach fat, but as of this week I think I have to let go of that mantra

nosebleeds

Friday, March 2, 2012
had a nosebleed last week randomly and it didn't occur to me that it could be from the pregnancy until I read the 15 week information and it mentioned the increased blood flow and sensitivity as a cause of this.  That would explain the slight increase in blood in my nose the past week and the full on nosebleed a few days ago

I just made these in less than a half an hour and they. are. delicious.

If you happen to have all the ingredients in your cupboard like I did, definitely try these out.
As she said in her comment link too, you can make a simple syrup with 1 c sugar and 1/4 c water instead of honey as well.
